| Ron
grew up on the Kansas Plains, and his first glimpse of mountains occurred
on a summer adventure, when he drove west in his old Model A to Colorado.
It was a turning point in his life as he was smitten by the mountains.
The
week after graduating from the University of Kansas in architecture,
Ron packed up all his belongings and headed west to California.
He started his architectural career and began his love affair with
the High Sierras, particularly Yosemite.
His
quest to capture the essence of Half Dome with his camera, in all
its moods and seasons, has led him on countless backcountry hikes,
backpacking trips, cross country ski trips and 22 ascents to the
top of Half Dome.

Ron
brings his design talent, an artistic appreciation for the use of
sunlight, shade and shadow, color and texture, and an architect's
sense of space which he brings to his photographic avocation.
His collection of Half Dome images speak for themselves, they draw
the viewer to this special place, into the experience, and to the
spirit of Yosemite.
Ron
loves to quote Mark Twain who said, "Yosemite is the only place
in the world that lives up to the brag."
If you have ever climbed Half Dome, you know why he made that statement.
